For 75 years, CARE has led the way to a better life for millions of vulnerable people around the world.

CARE International is one of the world’s largest independent development and humanitarian organizations dedicated to ending poverty and injustice. CARE’s vision is a world of hope, tolerance and social injustice, where poverty has been overcome and all people live in dignity and security.

Since 1995, CARE International in Myanmar (CARE Myanmar) has worked in partnership with remote, rural, conflict-affected and urban communities, government and non-government actors to reach those affected by humanitarian crisis and living in extreme vulnerabilities through a non-religious and non-partisan approach.

Putting women and girls at the centre of our work, whilst equally focusing on engaging men and boys, CARE Myanmar’s Programs focus on achieving lasting change for women and girls in urban areas; and women and girls in remote, rural and conflict-affected areas.

Our Vision 2030

Together with our partners, we commit to supporting 200 million people from vulnerable communities to fight poverty and social injustice. To achieve this goal, gender equality sits at the heart of our work.

CARE contributes to lasting impact at scale in poverty eradication and social justice, in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While all that we do is to support the achievement of ending poverty (SDG 1), gender equality (SDG 5) sits at the heart of our programmatic ambitions and radiates throughout our work.

CARE’s six impact areas drive progress towards our overall goal to end poverty. We focus on these specific impact areas for two reasons. Firstly, because they are critical barriers to poverty reduction, and secondly, because they are areas where CARE has developed world class expertise at all levels of our global network.
